On December 5th in New York promptly at 10:00 am EST Bonhams will be hosting an important auction of collectible material.  As do auction houses worldwide December frequently includes much of the best material offered all year.  The sale is rich with imaginative 20th century material, including photography.

Lot 19.  Warhol, Andy.  1928-1987.  Original watercolor, Iced Lemon Delight (cat version).  Estimated $8,000-$12,000

 

Lot 29.  Sendak, Maurice.  1928-2012.  Where the Wild Things Are.  New York:  Harper & Row, 1963.  Estimated $10,000-$15,000

 

Lot 96.  Noland, Kenneth.  1924-2010.  Original Circle Painting, untitled.  Estimated $8,000-

Lot 129.  Shakespeare, William. 1564-1616.  A Collection of Poems, in Two Volumes … London:  Printed for Bernard Lintott, at the Cross-Keys, between the Two Temple Gates in Fleet-Street. [1710-1711].  Estimated $15,000 - $20,000

 

Lot 205.  Gould, Glenn.  1932-1982.  Glenmn Gould’s extensively annotated copy of Bach’s Goldberg Variatioms (Klavierubung IV. Teil Aria Mit verschiedenen Veranderungen ‘Goldberg-Variationen.  Estimated $100,000 - $150,000

 

Lot 244.  Houdini, Harry.  1874-1926.  A collection of 11 cast iron shackle and lock items from Houdini’s personal collection.  The natural buyer, Ricky Jay, who is reported to have passed away recently, is nevertheless expected to be a factor in the bidding.
