The Rose City Book & Paper Fair Returns June 17-18

The Rose City Book & Paper Fair returns June 17-18.

The Rose City Book & Paper Fair returns June 17-18.

The annual Rose City Book & Paper Fair will be returning to its normal time and place after a two-year absence. Its normal time is in June and its normal place is in the physical world, not the invisible electronic one where virtual fairs take place. More specifically, its location is Portland, Oregon, also known as the “Rose City.”

This year's dates are Friday-Saturday June 17-18. The location is once again the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel at 1000 Northeast Multnomah St. in Portland, OR 97232. The hours are Friday 2:00 – 8:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. The price of admission is $5, good for both days.

The fair is sponsored by the Cascade Booksellers Association. They are an organization of booksellers from the Pacific Northwest. There will be around 60 exhibitors at the fair, mostly from the Pacific Northwest but some from farther away places. The Cascade Booksellers explain that “booksellers from the Pacific Northwest and beyond will be bringing their best rare and collectible books, ephemera, maps, prints, photographs and more.” This is always a popular event, and if experience from other returning book fairs is a guide, it should be particularly busy this years. Absence truly does make the heart grow fonder.

You can purchase tickets for the fair at Eventbrite.
