Description This group of catalogues, numbered 41 to 65, were issued between 1937 and 1941. Mr. Howes achieved lasting acclaim in the early 1950's with his publication of USiana (1650 - 1950), a listing of more than 11,200 items in the Americana field that he graded in relative terms. Readers who are familiar with his USiana will recognize, in these catalogues, his succinct style of presentation. He opened a bookshop in Chicago in 1922 and remained active until 1970.
