Source Title Swaen.com Map Auction
Description Swaen.com, or Paulus Swaen Internet Map Auction, has an unusual history. The firm was founded in the Netherlands in 1978 as a gallery. However, in 1996, Swaen was a pioneer in putting its catalogues online, and a map auction division was also added that year. Since then, Swaen has moved to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, U.S.A., and conducts four major internet map auctions annually, in March, May, September and November/December. The online auctions are large, averaging over 1,200 items per auction.

Swaen's specialty is maps, atlases, and globes from the 16th-19th century. They also offer similar items at fixed prices for sale at any time.
