Source Title Trafford Books
Description

Trafford Books is the trading name of George Wewiora who commenced selling paper collectables by auction in 1980 with his former partner, the late Harry Wood of Stockport. They established Acorn Philatelic Auctions as a specialist firm handling Stamps, Postal History and Picture Postcards. Harry Wood retired from the business in 1989, following which George gradually incorporated Cigarette and Trade Cards, Antiquarian and later books, Maps, Prints, Ephemera and Autographs into the sales.

Following the sale of the trading name Acorn Philatelic Auctions in September 2005, George rebranded his auctions as Trafford Books and refocused the auctions to place greater emphasis on Books, Postcards, Photographs and Autographs. Currently Postage Stamps take up approximately 20% of the total number of lots offered.
