Drumbeats Along the Mohawk

For the week ending Saturday October 30th eleven sales were archived; four in US dollars and seven in Euros.  Total turnover was $26,543,140 against the aggregate high estimate of $36,340,918.  Half of the dollars changed hands at Christie’s and Sotheby’s print sales which together raised $15,243,591.  Other print sales were also robust; Swann’s Old Master through Modern Prints sale that made $2,770,420 and Bonham’s which raised $1,742,191 in their print sale.

 

For the sales reported 15,266 lots were offered and 8,273 sold.  The percentage of lots selling was a relatively low 54%.

 

For the week only one sale reached 100% of its aggregate high estimate:
