This week the title is a turn on Dylan Thomas' phase "do not go gentle into that good night.  Old age should burn and rave at close of day."  And so it is with seasons of books and of men.  We live in dangerous times, the past not prologue, our contents staked to the old as we live through to the new.  

For the week ending Saturday July 27^th 8 auctions were archived to the AED; 5 in US dollars and 1 each in Mexican pesos, British pounds, and euros.  Turnover was $1,585,579 as 3,831 lots were offered and 2,604 sold for a 68% success rate.

No sales reached the million dollar level.  Neither did any total sale exceed the total of the high estimates of all lots offered.
