Dear Friends,

In the short days of December we pause to say thanks for the many blessings that make life and this project stimulating and exciting.  We count your interest in this ongoing project among them.

We, at AE, are privileged to live in the moment when what was known by the few is increasingly known by the many.  It is a profound change.  The AED, today at 4,077,436 records is the youthful runner, already far from home but with miles to go in a career that should extend well into the future.  With each advance clarity is further confirmed.

We now think in terms of ten million records and a seamless perspective on what has been celebrated by dealers, acquired by collectors and judged in the auction rooms.  A decade ago it seemed unlikely.  Today it’s inevitable.

For years I have counted among my most important possessions the basic references that enabled a child with interest in the printed word to become the man with a lifelong appreciation for its byzantine complexity.

In 2013 we expect to make further meaningful advances.
